I would like you to join me in my world of oil portraits, still lives, flowers and figurative art. The love for drawing was already early, during my childhood and teens. Then followed a period in which my passion disappeared completely into the background because of a combination of study and work.  

After the birth of my daughter, I decided to finish my career as a independent financial consultant and revive my artistic side. I wanted to pursue a career as a professional artist, became a member of the Portrait Society of America and began following courses and workshops.

In part, the quality of my work quickly grew to professional level. That development was noticeable: I received alot of attention from local media like Het Kompas, De Schakel, TV Rijnmond, Radio Hoeksewaard and Het Algemeen Dagblad. Various offers to exhibit in museums and galleries followed. All that attention soon resulted in assignments to paint oil paintings.

Shakespeare said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. He is right because I love the realistic capture of beautiful things. The realistic painting of portraits is my greatest passion.
